Achievements
ESA International's major fundraising focus is cancer research and cancer patient care. ESA has been recognised nationally by the National Health & Medical Research Council for its endeavours in providing funding for vital research projects.
ESA's achievements are:
- a research travel scholarship, Queensland Cancer Fund, for a person involved in cancer research;
- an Enrolled Nurses Bursary, Queensland Cancer Fund, to provide enrolled nurses from regional Queensland with training in caring for people with cancer;
- a Breast Cancer Bursary, Queensland Cancer Fund, for registered nurses;
- sponsorship for major events including the Leukaemia Quest and Queensland Cancer Fund's Nurse of the Year;
- major donor to the Mater Hospitals' Cord Blood Program;
- the members provide many voluntary hours working, and raising funds for their local communities and organisations such as Blue Care, Meals on Wheels, Driver Reviver sites, local hospitals, Riding School for the Disabled, schools, disability organisations, just to name a few.
